The three Student of the Month finalists were present. Receiving $500 were Kristin Smith, who had her mother Donna as her guest, and Joel Bischoff, who had his parents Don and Kathy and his Grandmother as his guests. The Youth of the Year was awarded to Tom Brown with $1,000. Tom’s mother Lynnette Brown was present. Tom’s plans are to attend MSU and study mechanical engineering. His community service and volunteerism was far above the other finalists. Tom will now compete at the district level.
